Thai – 1934 Siamese Standard The Thai, a beautiful and refined cat, follows the traditional 1934 Siamese standard. This standard emphasizes an elegant, graceful body and the distinctive wedge-shaped head. The Thai exudes not only beauty, but also a strong personality that makes the breed so beloved. Head The Thai’s head is long and well proportioned. The lines of the wedge shape run smoothly without interruption to a fine, delicate muzzle, which gives the breed a characteristic marten-like appearance. Ears The ears are quite large, pointed and wide at the base, which contributes to the Thai’s alert and curious expression. Eyes The eyes have a typical oriental shape and are obliquely placed. They are bright and lively without any tendency to squint, giving the face an intense and intelligent expression. Eye Color The eyes of the Thai are deep sapphire blue, a color that contrasts sharply with the lighter shades of the coat. Body, Legs and Feet The body of the Thai is medium-sized and slender, with an elegant, long form. The legs are slender, with the hind legs being slightly longer than the front legs, creating a graceful posture. The feet are oval in shape. Tail The long tail is fine and tapered, perfectly proportionate to the Thai’s slender body. Coat The coat is very short and fine in texture, shiny and tight against the body. The smooth appearance of the coat underlines the refined build of the breed. Colors The Thai follows the color descriptions of the Siamese, with a light body color and darker “points” on the face, ears, legs and tail. Point Rating
