Sliedrecht, December 2, 1980

To all members of Neocat

L.S.

On October 25, a meeting was held in Amsterdam on the initiative of Mrs. Berntrop and Mrs. Tielens about a breed club to be established for Siamese and Oriental Shorthairs. *Oriental Shorthairs entails: Foreign White, Havana, Lavender, Oriental Type Blue Red, Creme, Tabby, etc.) Since the Neocat magazine was published irregularly at the time, no announcement could be placed in it so only those who had already signed up for the Siamese club last year were invited. Fortunately enough members had signed up so that it could be decided to go ahead with the establishment. In preparation for further activities, a provisional board was formed consisting of: Mrs. Berntrop, president; Mr. Grond, treasurer; Mrs. Tromp, secretary.

Signed in Utrecht on Friday, December 12.

The first activity of the breed club is an evening held in one of the halls of the Jaarbeurs Congress Center (Beatrixhal), Croeselaan 6 in Utrecht (in the same building where the annual Neocat show is held). The intention is to have a pleasant and also educational evening. Some Siamese will be shown with an explanation by judge Klaas van Wijk. There will also be an explanation of what “genetics” actually is and what you can do with it. Important is, we think, that it will be a pleasant evening where we can talk with each other about our favorite animals and about the breed club. Everyone is welcome so also those who are not yet members. The first club evening starts at eight o’clock (20.00 hours). Please note the date. We also count on your coming! Of course you can also register as a member of the breed club on this evening.

Show “Oriental Cat Watching,” Haarlem Sunday, May 24, 1981.

This one-day International Show is organized by the breed club. It will be a show for Siamese, Oriental Shorthairs, Burmese and Balinese. It can accommodate about 300 cats. Entry forms are available at the shows in Utrecht and in Borne or can be obtained from the entry office (from mid-January 1981). More news about this show will be published in the Neocat magazine. As you know, many hands make light work. Contributors can already apply with Mrs. Tielens, Hessenweg 9, 3881 NL Putten (Gld), phone 05476-1698.
